Abstract:Financing and maintenance of new roads in the UK and some parts of Europe has led to the existence of tolls or road-use charges, the E-C funded ADEPT project, a system for both road-toll pricing and road-toll collection, will be employed and its applications will be tested on field-trials in 5 locations over Europe. Discussed in the paper are some options procurable for road-use charging.
