Abstract:

The UK strategy for working with people with dementia has several priorities, these include improving diagnostic rates, reducing anti-psychotic medication, and education of health and social care staff. In addition the importance of person centred care and dementia friendly communities. This outline current research with regards to these areas, with specific reference to the work of the British Geriatric Society and the Ageing and Dementia Research Centre at Bournemouth University UK.
