Abstract:The National Institute of Health and Research (NIHR) mission is to improve the health and wealth of the nation through funding public health and social care research. NIHR aims to improve patient and public outcomes and make the health and social care system more efficient, effective, and safe.
This presentation will explore how University Hospitals Dorset (UHD) and Bournemouth University (BU) support NIHR's mission to deliver outstanding care by embedding clinical research to become clinical practice. Embedding clinical research to become clinical practice is a multifaceted process. This process will be explained using the Level framework—macro, meso, and micro—to achieve outstanding care delivery.
In this session, learn how to support the transition from clinical research into clinical practice, with an exploration from policy papers to funders. Why does the UHD hospital board focus on research, links to the Research and Development department, and UHD and BU collaboration? How can the workforce believe that research is attractive, everyone's responsibility, and empowered to support?
