Abstract:

Hospitality has always been a people-centred business, shaped by the subtlety of human interactions and the quality of emotional connection between guests and staff. Yet behind every smooth arrival experience, every thoughtful service recovery, every intuitive anticipatory gesture lies a deeper form of mental work, one that is increasingly central to managerial performance. This is the work of cognitive intelligence (CI), the set of thinking capabilities that allow hospitality managers to interpret information, solve problems, exercise judgement and maintain clarity in environments defined by constant change.
