Abstract:

In this article, the author describes the Child Welfare Services in England against the backdrop of austerity. The article begins with providing an overview of the way Child Welfare Services are organised, Even though there is a significant amount of variation between the 151 Local Authorities services are organised in a way that is orientated towards the complexity of needs. On this basis the possible support mechanisms are discussed which in itself are regionally different and are impacted by central governments austerity measures. How child welfare services are organised therefore is of great interest in this article.
