Abstract:

In accordance with characteristics of 3D finite element irregular data field, a direct volume rendering algorithm that is based on scan-buffer and particularly suitable to multiple types of finite elements is proposed. The influences of different functions mapping from the data field to the density field on the image result are discussed, and several mapping models available to the finite element data field are proposed.
