Abstract:With a projected decrease in the number of general practice nurses over the next five years, it is imperative that steps are taken to address the situation. One suggestion is to increase student nurse placement opportunities in general practice, so Bournemouth University undertook a study to review students’ evaluations of such placements. This identified students’ limited understanding of the role of general practice nurse, and that the placements promoted it as a future career option.
