Biography

After graduating from King’s College London in 2015 I worked in London in all areas of Maternity Care. During this time I developed a keen interest in teamwork and leadership in maternity care, personalising women’s care particularly when these women are perceived as ‘high risk’ and how these work together when caring for women in maternity care. This has led me to take a specialised role as a Mental Health Midwife where my interest in these elements has increased this interest.

I then became a Professional Midwifery Advocate in 2020. This has shown me that alongside supporting women while they are being cared for within maternity services, supporting midwives who care for all women is vital. During this time, I created a staff initiative to improve teamwork and outcomes for women's ‘Time for Tea’, this has created better team working within the trust.

Now, moving into my role within the university, I have completed a Postgraduate Certificate in Practice Education with distinction at Bournemouth University in 2024, further enhancing my skills in education and academia...
