Biography

Since 2015, Nigel Jump has been Professor of Regional Economic Development at Bournemouth University, working with the Office of the Vice Chancellor to engage with local businesses/other organisations and to research economic development of the local economy.

Between 2012 and 2018, he was Executive Director & Chief Economist, for Strategic Economics Ltd. He provided professional economics/intelligence services across the public/private spectrum of economic development and macro planning. He offered bespoke advice/analysis for a range of clients, including local authorities, LEPs, business organisations, professional services & manufacturing companies, universities, the media & social enterprises.

Formerly, Nigel was a Visiting Professor in Regional Economics at the University of Plymouth, teaching applied economics and working with the Regional Economic Development (RED) team in the Business School.
