Abstract:In the 1990s Sky Plc (Sky) was a UK based pay-TV provider; twenty years later it had grown into a leading European, multi-product, multi-platform entertainment and communications firm. Whilst many legacy media firms complained about the high-velocity environmental conditions and the profound impact of digitalization and new media technologies on their business models and revenues, Sky sensed an opportunity for market leadership and appeared to thrive on high levels of turbulence.
