Abstract:

A common issue with using blogs and wikis to mediate academic discourse between students is how these important learning experiences can be assessed. I will review methods, before highlighting my experiences assessing online discussions for skills of reflection, critical evaluation and leadership. The potential for automated techniques will be considered.
