Women in Leadership Roles

Abstract:

To tackle the under-representation of women in leadership roles, Bournemouth University’s (BU) Design and Engineering department established an action plan during Athena Swan 2020 application. The proportion of women in leadership roles has increased from 19% in 2021 to 43% in 2023; however, there is still work to be done to promote women to the higher tiers of management in the department.
