Biography

Julia Weiss (She/Her/They) is a PhD student in the Faculty of Media, Science and Technology at Bournemouth University and part of The Media school. She completed a BA (Hons) in Communication and Media and a MA in Media and Communication at Bournemouth University.

Research

Julia's research focuses on sexuality, gender and well-being on an interdisciplinary level. Her interests expand to relationship dynamics within online spaces and physical environments. She is also interested in how identities are navigated and negotiated in online spaces, as well as more broadly about digital cultures. Julia has previously worked with mixed-methods designs, as well as qualitative research approaches.

Her PhD project centres around bisexual+ and plurisexual identities and the use of mobile, collaborative and creative methods that foster social change and community engagement.
