Biography
Michelle is currently completing her professional doctorate in education at Bournemouth's Centre for Excellence in Media Practice. Her research focuses on the impact of the 2014 curriculum reform on A Level Media Studies and takes a multi-methodological approach to researching online teachers' communities of practice, incorporating netnography and CDA within an hermeneutic phenomenological 'attitude'. A former curriculum leader for Media, she taught in the post-16 sector for over 20 years and is now a senior lecturer and programme leader for the Post-Compulsory Education and Training PGCE at The University of East London. She has also written journal articles, blogs and resources for a range of publications and websites related to media education. Michelle is also an executive member of The Media Education Association.
