Biography
I am a Lecturer in Corporate Law at Bournemouth University, which I joined in September 2026. Before joining Bournemouth University, I worked at London Metropolitan University and Queen Mary University of London.
I hold a PhD in Law from the University of Leeds, an LLM in Corporate and Commercial Law from the University of Sheffield, and an LLB from Changchun University of Science and Technology.
My research sits at the intersection of insolvency law, company law and environmental law. It examines how corporate and insolvency frameworks allocate environmental liabilities, and how legal design can prevent companies from externalising environmental harm onto creditors, communities and the public. A central concern of my work is the internalisation of environmental costs, particularly through financial assurance mechanisms and private law structures that can ensure that environmental obligations are addressed before and during corporate failure.
My research has been published in peer-reviewed academic journals, including the Journal of Environmental Law and the International Company and Commercial Law Review.
