Biography
I am an occupational therapist. I completed my BSc and MSc in Occupational Therapy at Hacettepe University, Türkiye. My master's research examined how hand injuries influence individuals' daily roles and occupations. Prior to starting my PhD in 2023, I worked for two years as an Occupational Therapist at Bilecik State Hospital, Türkiye, across the Physical Therapy and Rehabilitation Centre and the Community Mental Health Centre, where I provided rehabilitation for adults with stroke, hand injuries, and mental health conditions.
My doctoral research uses Community Participatory Action Research to work collaboratively with older adults from diverse ethnicities in the UK. Through this approach, I explore participation in occupations among them. I am broadly interested in participatory research, ageing, and inclusive, person-centred practice.
My doctoral research is supported by a fully funded from the Republic of Türkiye Ministry of National Education.
