Biography
Debbi’s early career working as a civilian chef for the Army led her into looking more about health and wellbeing and how food plays a significant role in this.
As a mature student Debbi returned to education to undertake a BSc in Health Science. After graduating in 2005 she began working as a Demonstrator in Health Sciences here at Bournemouth University in the Rehabilitation and Sports Sciences Department in the Faculty of Health and Social Sciences. She has since been awarded her postgraduate certificate in higher education and is a fellow of the Higher Education Academy.
Debbi is very student focused has experience working across all levels in laboratory practical's ranging from Microbiology and Food Safety, Food Processing and Product Development and Anatomy and Physiology, working predominantly for BSc Nutrition and Sports and Exercise Sciences courses.
Enhancing the student learning experience, student welfare and well-being are key to her role in supporting students through their university experience... Debbi has also been nominated for several VC awards, including Unsung hero and has been the recipient of SUBU You’re Brilliant awards.
