Biography

Dr Joanne Holmes is Senior Lecturer in the Faculty of Health and Social Sciences where she holds a 0.7 FTE position. She is Deputy Head of the Department of Rehabilitation and Sport Sciences. Ensuring the delivery of a high quality learning experience for students within the department by supporting staff to embed the latest pedagogic research, blended learning, synchronous and asynchronous teaching techniques to increase learning and ensure evidence based science develops student knowledge as life long learners as well as building a support programme to enhance graduate employability skills. She has led staff to embed these principals to ensure a high quality learning experience evidenced by four years of excellent NSS scores of over 95% overall student satisfaction.

She is an accreditation assessor for the Association for Nutrition and is on their accreditation committee.

She has a passion for older person nutrition and completed my doctoral research entitled 'An exploration of the factors that affect the complete meal experience for cognitively active elderly living in residential care' in 2019 as well as being involved with other research projects aimed at this sector...
