Biography
Michael is a geoarchaeologist specialising in geophysics although he has an interest in all things related to archaeological science. In his free time, he likes to visit and document places of historical or geological interest as well as to collect fossils.
Michael has worked with multiple geophysical techniques (ERT, GPR, magnetometry) as part of archaeological projects. His PhD thesis (completed at Flinders University, Australia) primarily constructed a site history of Soyo, Mongolia using geophysics and stratigraphic modelling. Michael has also worked on various short-term projects involving geophysical prospection and archaeological mapping.
Michael is currently part of a team at Bournemouth University researching ichnology and particularly the human and megafauna footprints at White Sands National Park, USA. His work centres around how GPR can be used to study ancient footprints.
