Biography
I am currently a researcher in the Ed.D program at Bournemouth University, where I specialize in the field of neurodivergence in the post-16 education sector. In addition to my research, I am also a specialist mentor and study skills tutor with Clear-links, supporting Higher Education (HE) students. I have previously taught professional practice on the HNC Computing course at Nelson & Colne College and conducted workshops for BTEC L3 Creative Media.
My research focuses on the use of Twitter as a tool for professional agency, practice, and socialization among neurodivergent educators, particularly in the context of the COVID-19 pandemic. I believe it is important to give a voice to those who may be unseen, unheard, or undisclosed in traditional educational spaces, and I approach my research with a reflexive, first-person perspective using a partly auto-ethnographic methodology. Through my research, I hope to understand how neurodivergent post-16 educators use Twitter and how it contributes to the shaping of their professional identity and agency.
