Biography

I have spend 20 years in the NHS after 8 years in the Royal Navy, prior to joining Bournemouth University as part of the academic team. Having also spent time working in Australia and New Zealand I have built up a solid understanding of perioperative practice across a variety of healthcare settings. I have always had a passion for teaching, from clinical in-situ 'micro teaching' through high fidelity simulation and formal lecture based education. With this background I qualified as a Resuscitation Council UK instructor in Advanced Life Support, European Peadiatric Advanced Life Support, and subsequently teaching and the Advanced Life Support Group's Instructor course, educating the next generation of instructors. I was able to develop my clinical skills qualifying as an Advanced Practitioner and broadening my expertise with exposure to the Critical Care Outreach Team. I now aim to bring this passion and expertise to Bournemouth University, across a variety of faculties.
