Biography
I qualified as a chartered physiotherapist with BSc(Hons) in 1999 and worked extensively in London at basic and senior grade, with a special interest in rehabilitation and intensive care. MSc studies in Rehabilitation at Oxford Brookes University developed advanced skills in all aspects of the rehabilitative process and I completed primary research into the assessment of the unstable shoulder. These studies were integrated with neuromusculoskeletal specialist physiotherapy role within Oxfordshire NHS community Trust. I have completed post graduate studies in advancing practice: specialist manipulative physiotherapy at Birmingham University and qualified as a member of the Manipulative Association of Chartered Physiotherapist in 2008. I have worked in private practice in Bournemouth and Southampton since 2007, joining Bournemouth University as a lecturer on the undergraduate BSc(Hons) physiotherapy programme in 2008. I have taught widely on the Physiotherapy undergraduate programme, participating in three curriculum reviews... I am currently completing doctoral studies into the role of sensorimotor control in the shoulder.
