Abstract:

Chapter 4 includes five case studies that consider innovative applications of technology within virtual learning environments (VLE) which are online software platforms that many universities use to facilitate learning and teaching activities within a virtual space. The case studies in this chapter include examples of using technology to enhance the VLE to support the requirements of postgraduate research students, creating flexible learning pathways for students, using a learning design framework to engage and support students, embedding proctoring tools within the VLE, and using an experiential digital learning platform to enhance student employability.
