Biography
I am a Senior Lecturer for Social Work and the CPD Framework lead for Social Sciences.
I qualified Social Pedagogue in Germany in 2004 and undertook further training as psychotherapist, working with children and adults in early intervention settings.
Since 2006 I have been living, working and studying in the UK. As a registered Social Worker, I spend 15 years in front line Children’s Services as a practitioner and manager. I supported students on placement as Practice Educator.
I undertook my MA studies in Managing and Developing Services in Health and Social Care at BU, focussing on Organisational Cultures and Staff Performance.
In 2019 I joined the Pan-Dorset Social Work Teaching Partnership as a Lecturer Practitioner Consultant, based at BU, with the aim to bridge the gap between academia and practice. Since 2021 I have been a full time member of staff at BU.
I am now undertaking research for my PhD on ‘Relationship Performance Management in Children's Social Care’. I have a particular interest in practitioner wellbeing and resilience and how this impacts on practice...
I also teach on the qualifying degree courses and am unit lead for Law and Social Policy where I can share my passion for Human Rights and Equality.
I feel passionate to enable practitioners to further their learning and expertise by accessing CPD courses. As the Framework Lead I develop opportunities with practice partners to meet the needs of the workforce in ever changing and demanding environments.
