Biography
Quynh holds a PhD in Emotional Intelligence in Hospitality and an MSc in Tourism Management from Bournemouth University, achieved under the Vice-Chancellor Scholarship in 2010 and 2014. Quynh is a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy and Level 4 Coordinator for Tourism and Hospitality undergraduate programmes. She has contributed to the accreditation and validation of Tourism and Hospitality programmes at BU and other institutions.
Building on her PhD research, Quynh is an emerging thought leader in the areas of tourism and hospitality employment, culture and service marketing. She is currently working on interdisciplinary research projects investigating the intersection of emotions, culture, and gender and how this could be embedded in training and professional development programmes for different sectors. Quynh is interested in PhD supervision and collaboration in this line of research.
Quynh’s previous experience reflects Bournemouth University’s commitment to the fusion of education, research and practice... Prior to academia, Quynh worked at various levels in the tourism and hospitality industry within the UK and internationally. Her academic career included the lectureships at Ton Duc Thang University, Vietnam National University – Ho Chi Minh City, and University of Essex. She also worked on a research project funded by the British Academy on the culture of chronically under-performing firms in the Faculty of Media & Communication, Bournemouth University. This allows her to incorporate research and professional practice into teaching, providing students with relevant and contemporary issues within the industry.
