Biography

Yonghun (Principal Academic in Product Design) is an acting Deputy Head of Department and a programme leader for BA (Hons) Product Design Futures, Department of Design & Engineering, Faculty of Science & Technology. He is also a coordinator of the department's final year degree show called the Festival of Engineering & Design (FoDE).

His area of expertise focuses on human-centred design innovation, specifically emphasizing psychosocial inclusivity in design, which encompasses cognitive, emotional, social, and value dimensions. His research dedicated to enhancing individual and communal well-being and quality of life across diverse contexts. Yonghun has contributed to research projects sponsored by renowned entities such as Sainsbury’s, Motability, Heathrow Airport Ltd., and the National Institute for Health Research (NIHR).

Furthermore, Yonghun is a fellow of Higher Education Academy (HEA). He is a member of the Institution of Engineering Designers (IED), International Inclusive Design Research Group (IDRG)...
