Biography
Ismail Alarab, PhD
Lecturer in Computer Science
Dr. Ismail Alarab is a Lecturer in Computer Science with a research in applied artificial intelligence, including blockchain technology, and other real-world applications. In December 2022, he completed his PhD under the title "Novel Machine Learning Models Based on Uncertainty Estimation and Sequential Predictions for Blockchain Networks" from Bournemouth University.
He holds a Diploma in Telecommunication Engineering (equivalent to MEng) from the Lebanese University, with MSc in Signal and Image Processing: Applications and Methods from the Université Grenoble Alpes, a PGCert in Higher Education from Bournemouth University, and holds the Higher Education Academy (HEA) Fellowship.
Dr. Alarab teaches topics including Artificial Intelligence, Databases, Big Data, Blockchain, and Programming. His teaching combines practical and theoretical approaches to emerging technologies in data science and AI. Recently, he has focused on applications relevant to industry, particularly through Knowledge Transfer Partnerships (KTPs), with growing interests in Large Language Models (LLMs) and Agentic AI.
