Biography

Tim is an experienced designer with an interest in design methods, manufacturing methods, material selection and CAD tools. He was elected to member of the IED in 2009 and is actively involved in working with industry both via consultancy and Knowledge Transfer Partnerships. During his time as an academic at Bournemouth University he has run a number of units in the areas of design methods, projects, manufacturing and CAD. In addition to this he also been involved with undergraduate and postgraduate project supervision and is currently the Final Year Projects manager for BA(Hons) Industrial Design. In 2017, Tim was made a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy. Tim's research focus is in the field of Design and Emotion. In June 2018 he successfully defended his PhD thesis entitled: Randomness as a CAD Tool for the Affective Augmentation of Form in Product Design Concepts.
