Biography
My name is Emma Böckle and I started at Bournemouth University in April 2016 as a Lecturer in Adult Nursing. Prior to this appointment I was a Consultant Project Lead at the University of Southampton working on several projects including Inter-professional Learning, Long Term Conditions and Mentorship. Working with a project group of service and University colleagues on a Department of Health and NHS Wessex funded project a values based online toolkit was developed for the selection of potential mentors and a developmental feedback tool for existing mentors www.valuesbasedmentorship.co.uk
My previous experience working in the academic field was as an Academic Practitioner in the Faculty of Health Sciences at the University of Southampton from 2001-2007. Teaching on both under-graduate and post-graduate courses my subject interests being mentorship, practice-based learning, surgical nursing and clinical skills.
Alongside my appointment at the University of Southampton I have held NHS appointments working as part of the Practice Learning Team as the Mentorship Lead for Hampshire & Isle of Wight Strategic Health Authority and in education roles for Southampton University Hospitals Trust supporting return to practice nurses and as the Education Lead for the Surgical Directorate...
My research interests is practice-based learning. My clinical background is surgical nursing with a speciality of Gastrointestinal Nursing. Outside of work I am a member of my local Doctor’s surgery Patient participation group, I am working as vaccinator for implementing Covid-19 vaccines and deliver food parcels for the New Forest Food bank.
